New blog started focusing on Health and Personal Mastery

July 7th, 2009

The Energy Integration website is undergoing a face lift. I am also starting a new blog focusing on implementing the 80/20 principle to promote health and personal mastery. a href=http://ei-hpm.com/hpm-blog title=The Health amp; Personal Mastery BlogCheck it out/afont style=position: absolute;overflow: hidden;height: 0;width: 0a href=http://www.videnov.com/#1089;#1087;#1072;#1083;#1085;#1080; #1082;#1086;#1084;#1087;#1083;#1077;#1082;#1090;#1080;/a/font.

Infants form memories early in life, but also forget

February 18th, 2007

компютриInfants form memories early in life, but also forget Updated 2/17/2007 4:03 PM ET By Randolph E. Schmid, The Associated Press SAN FRANCISCO” Adults thinking back rarely can remember anything before preshool, but those bright infant eyes staring back at mommy and daddy really are forming memories. It’s just that babies also forget. In fact, babies’ rate of forgetting is even faster than that of adults, Patricia J. Bauer of Duke University said Friday at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

How does this increased understanding of early memory affect the way we work with clients in terms of SomatoEmotional Release?

Human Heartbeats and Breathing can Synchronize

February 2nd, 2007

Human Heartbeats and Breathing can Synchronize

“Kantelhardt and his colleagues found that breathing and heartbeats synchronized more than twice as much during light and deep sleep than when people were awake. On the other hand, breathing and heartbeat synchronization during REM sleep was suppressed by roughly a factor of three compared to wakefulness. This suggests the high brain activity during REM sleep generates “noise” in the nervous system that upsets breathing and heartbeat synchronization, the scientists explained.”

This synchronization is someting that meditators and practicioners of Energy Integration, CranioSacral Therapy, Yoga and Qi Gong have experienced.

Thought seems to disrupt this synchronization giving insight why meditation seeks to quiet the mind (thought).

Healthcare Trend Moving Focus on Healing, Not Sickness

January 29th, 2007

Most of what we attribute to aging, is really the result of disuse. In fact research supports the power of exercise (cardio and strength training) to turn back the clock in terms of function. A fit 60 year old, can have the functional health of someone in their 40’s. It’s never too late. Even patients in nursing homes, who begen a strength training programs are able to regain function improving their quality of life.

The Brain Speaks

January 28th, 2007

Recent research provides food for thought in terms of SomatoEmotional Release and The Brain Speaks.

Stress ‘harms brain in the womb.’

 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6298909.stm.

Understanding this research can give therapists and clients a context for working with body memories originating from the womb, that are difficult to move beyond a feeling level to consciously remembering the trauma.

Brain’s ‘addiction centre’ found.

Focusing on this area both energetically, and through dialogue, may facilitate shifts in dealing with addiction.

Scientists discover the ‘kind’ part of the brain

January 22nd, 2007

Scientists discover the ‘kind’ part of the brain. As we come to understand the workings of the brain, we can incorporate that information into our energetic, and SomatoEmotional Release work with clients and into our own self care as well.

More on this story here. The brain theory behind altruism

The Energy Fascia Connection

January 21st, 2007

“We can see all the beauties of life on exhibition by that great power with which fascia is endowed. The soul of man with all the streams of pure living water seems to dwell in the fascia of his body.”

A. T. Still, developer of osteopathy in Philosophy of Osteopathy, 1899

When I first heard this quote, I didn’t get it. How can Still equate fascia and soul? My work with the energy/fascial matrix has shown me the wisdom in Still’s words.

There is a natural progression in manual therapy from the gross to the subtle, from the fascial matrix to the energy matrix, from working on someone to working with someone, from overcoming resistance to establishing trust. As one learns to listen to the fascia, a whole new world of subtle rhythms and forces is revealed.

Fascia is soft tissue. It can be likened to a laminated sheath that surrounds everything in the body, from the smallest nerve and muscle fiber to the largest bone, muscle and organ. If we could remove everything from the body except for the fascia, we would be left with a there-dimensional matrix much like the three-dimensional, computer-generated images we see in sci-fi movies. Fascia not only binds and supports, it is also a primary communication channel in the body. In ancient Chinese texts there are allusions to qi (energy) moving through the fascia. I use the term “energy/fascial matrix” to refer to this close correlation between fascia and energy.

Effective bodywork enhances the balance and flow of energy. Effective energy work enhances tissue quality. Energy Integration was developed to unite bodywork and energy work, allowing therapists to effectively work with this energy/fascial matrix. Energy Integration provides a step-by-step introduction to energy work and its integration into bodywork.
